Pet friendly traction sand
An optional application of pure traction sand for grip on cleared surfaces, with no chemical salts used anywhere on your property.
Grip without the chemistry
Rock salt and de-icing pellets work, but they irritate paws, track into the house, damage concrete over time and end up in garden beds. Our optional traction service uses sand alone. It does not melt snow. It gives you something to grip on the surfaces we have already cleared.
Where it goes
Sand is applied to the walkway, steps and entry that we clear on the same visit. Steps and any sloped section of walkway get the heaviest coverage, since those are the surfaces that turn slick first after a thaw and refreeze cycle.
Living with sand
Sand is visible, which is part of why it works. A doormat at the entry catches most of what would otherwise come indoors. In spring it sweeps up easily and does not leave the white residue that salt leaves behind on brick and concrete.
Adding it to your plan
Traction sand is an optional add on to a seasonal plan rather than a standalone service. Tell us on your quote request and we will include it in your pricing. It can also be added partway through the season if the winter turns icy.

Limited seasonal spots are available in each neighbourhood. Once a route is full we hold the rest on a waiting list.
